Introducing my new pincushion pattern "By the Sea".

Henry Glass Summer Party

Visit the Henry Glass Blog starting Sunday, July 29th to join in on the fun!

It's a great opportunity to meet some of the Henry Glass designers and visit their blogs.  I hear there will be fabric given away every day - you won't want to miss it!

I'm also planning a fun giveaway on my day
which is August 5th.

My Inspiration

I thought I would share a little about the inspiration for "Blushing" my newest fabric collection with

When I sat down to design "Blushing" a big part of my inspiration came from Apple blossoms that bloom in this part of the world every spring.  I just love these little flowers and after a very long cold winter it's a sure sign that warm weather has finally arrived.

But the other exciting part of the inspiration for this collection was the Languedoc cross.  I think it's such a pretty cross and I wanted it to be a part of Blushing. When I married into the Languedoc family years ago my mother-in-law gave me a Languedoc cross pendant - it's something that will always be dear to me.  The cross has a long history that dates back to 1165.
I think it adds an 'Old World' charm to this new collection.

I won't see sample yardage for Blushing for months and I know the waiting will not be easy, but I've already started drawing out patterns and I hope to have some digital designs for you soon.

Blushing

I would like to introduce you to my new fabric line, "Blushing".

I'm so happy with the way this collection has come together. My inspiration started with apple blossoms and grew into 21 fresh sweet pieces that make up Blushing.

Blushing will be in quilt shops February 2013.
I hope you all love it as much as I do!

I also have designed three free patterns to accompany Blushing. This easy simple block is featured in all three projects.   They are all available here on
the Henry Glass web site

Updates on my Sewing Room

These are the two men in my life who have been busy putting the finishing touches on my studio.  I have always wanted to put a frame around my design board and this past week it was completed.
It's pretty easy to do with a little door framing material and helpers who know what they're doing ... thank goodness for these two!

Jenny (my daughter) and I worked on the bulletin board last night.  Love the way it turned out!
We used an old frame and some 1/2" insulation, a piece of batting, some Butterfields fabric and a glue gun.  We also added some little half-circle scallops of Butterfields at the bottom for fun.
The board is a bit empty at the moment but I know it won't be long before it's overflowing!

We also got around to hanging some rulers and a couple of shelves.

I'm really loving this idea.  I was at Homesense the other day and found this wood mannequin that I think is perfect for hanging my small scissors and rotary cutters to keep them handy.

Last but not least my little Louis is 7 months old and tips the scales at a hefty 4 pounds.
He is such a sweet boy and is a delightful part of my day!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Square Dance

I love a simple-to-piece quilt that looks much more complicated than it is, and I think "Square Dance" has that look.

This easy Layer Cake or Fat Quarter pattern is my newest design. It's quick to make so it’s another perfect weekend project.

Slice of Cake

Here are a few more pictures of my new pattern,
"Slice of Cake"
This new pattern comes together super fast using a Layer Cake -- it's a perfect weekend project!

"Slice of Cake" is available on my website.

Strawberry Season

Who can resist the taste of strawberries at this time of year - they are amazing!

These fresh picked strawberries will help to make a wonderful dessert to celebrate Independence Day with all my American friends.

Happy 4th of July!

New Studio and A NEW Pattern!

After a week or so of painting, installing hardwood floors and lots of re-organizing I have finaly moved back into my studio.
Here is a little tour of my new space.  I won't show you all of it just yet because it's not 100% finished - I still have a couple of projects that I want to finish up like a new framed design wall, but its getting there.

Click on the pictures if you would like to see them enlarged.

Thank you for coming by to see my studio.

I also have a new table runner pattern I want to share with you. It's called "Slice of Cake". One Layer Cake and a little fabric for sashing and binding.
So fun to make and super easy!

"Slice of Cake" pattern is avaliable on my website.
